Troubleshooting

I am a registered Member, but I can’t log in.

  1. Enter the username and password that you used to join. If you cannot remember your password, click the “forgot my password” link on the log in page.
  2. If a “log out” button appears on the home page, you are already logged in.
  3. If you have privacy, pop-up blocking or anti-virus programs on your computer, please consult your manual to see what adjustments are necessary to allow access to our site.
  4. Email us at learndoearn@mushygushy.com and we will check your account to make sure it is in good order and will help you log in.



I am unable to view GushyGrams that have been sent to me via a link.

  1. Copy and paste the link included in your notification email into your web browser’s “address” window.
  2. If you are using WebTV you might be unable to view our GushyGrams. If you have a newer version of WebTV that came with a Flash plug-in, you will be able to view all of our GushyGrams.
  3. We change the sender email address so that it comes from our customer (the sender of the GushyGrams) and not from our email address. There are some email providers that will see the discrepancy between the actual sender’s address and the sender indicated in the subject line, and will filter the card and send it to the trash. You can request that you or your recipient raise the issue with his/her ISP so that you are able to send or receive GushyGrams from MushyGushy in the future.
  4. The security level of your email program is too high. To learn about the security settings in your particular email program, please contact your email provider.
  5. If none of these situations apply, please email us at learndoearn@mushygushy.com and we’ll be happy to help you.

I am unable to view animation.
Our GushyGrams use an enhanced animation called Flash. To view these animations, you will need to have a Flash plug-in. You can download the Flash plug-in for FREE at
http://www.adobe.com. Follow the steps below:

  1. Go to the download section (http://www.adobe.com/downloads/)
  2. Choose “Adobe Flash Player”
  3. Choose “Download”
  4. Click on “Install Now”
  5. After installation is complete, please go to the link provided in your original email and your GushyGram should play from this point.

If you have downloaded the Flash plug-in and are still unable to view animation on our site, please email us at learndoearn@mushygushy.com and we will be happy to help you.

The animation is slow or choppy.
Slow modem speeds or slow computer processors can cause delays or slow animation on our GushyGrams. We recommend using a modem speed of at least 56k to connect to the internet and a computer processor speed of at least 133 MHz. We also recommend closing all other applications on your computer (except your web browser) while you are viewing our GushyGrams. If you still experience difficulty, you might want to install more memory on your computer and/or get a faster internet connection.

I am experiencing long photo upload times.
The resolution of your photograph is probably too large; try reducing the resolution. There are many common picture editing programs available that include a resize feature to change the number of pixels.

I am unable to hear sound/music on the site.
First, please check your individual internal and external computer controls.

If you are using WINDOWS, there should be a “speaker” icon on the bottom right hand corner of your computer screen. Double click on the icon and make sure the volume control is turned up loud enough, and that the mute square is not checked.

If you are using a MAC, check to be sure that sound is enabled on your computer.

If you are still unable to hear the sounds that accompanies our GushyGrams, you might need to download the appropriate plug-in for your browser.

Computer Requirements

Certain systems and software are required in order for our site to function properly on your computer. Please see below to see the operating systems and browsers that we recommend.

Operating Systems
WINDOWS
You need at least Windows 95 or Windows 98. To see what version of Windows you are currently running, please click on the “START” button in the lower left corner of your desktop. Your version of Windows should be display along the left side of the menu that appears.

MAC
You will need OS9 or OSX. TO find out what operating system you are currently running, click on the apple in the upper left corner of your desktop. From the menu that appears, select “About This Mac.” Your operating system will be displayed in the screen that appears.

Unfortunately, Macintosh computers are not compatible with all of our site features. Functionality or products that include the download of a plug-in are not MAC compatible at this time. We apologize for this inconvenience.

Browsers
AOL
Most versions of AOL work well with our site, but if you experience difficulty we recommend that you upgrade to AOL Version 6.0. To find out what version of AOL you are currently running, follow the steps below:

  1. Click on the AOL icon on your desktop to open a browser window.
  2. Click on “HELP” in the gray toolbar at the top of the screen.
  3. Select “About America Online.”
  4. Just under the graphic it should read “American Online” and the version number will follow immediately after.

AOL should send you periodic upgrades, or you can visit AOL’s home page to download the most recent version that is compatible with your computer.

INTERNET EXPLORER
We recommend that you use Internet Explorer versions 5.5 of 6.0. To find out what version of Internet Explorer you are currently running, follow the steps below:

  1. Open your Internet Explorer browser window.
  2. Click on “HELP” in the gray toolbar at the top of the screen.
  3. Select “About Internet Explorer.”
  4. Just beneath the graphic, look for “Version.”

If you do not have one of the recommended versions of this browser, please visit http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/search.asp to download a newer version for free.

NETSCAPE
We recommend that you use Netscape Version 8.0. To find out what version of Netscape you are currently running, follow the steps below:

  1. Open your Netscape browser window. 
  2. Click on “HELP” in the toolbar at the top of the screen.
  3. Select “About Netscape.”
  4. A page should come up displaying the version of your browser.

If you do not currently have the recommended version, please visit http://browser.netscape.com/ns8/ to download the newest version for free.
